The Altamont School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school enrolling approximately 400 students in grades 5-12. We help our students ask good questions, while discovering their hidden talents. Our core competencies prepare our students for entering a world of change, where they'll face problems we can't yet imagine. At Altamont, we're not simply preparing students to enter a "good" college, although our college acceptance list stacks up with those of the best independent schools in the United States. Rather, we're helping them reach deep within themselves to become masters of their own lifelong journeys of discovery. If we do our job well, our students will never stop asking good questions.
